Coronavirus Update: September 2020
Dear Root+Wing Community,
It is with a whole lot of mixed emotions that I share that, at least for the winter, I’m shutting the physical doors of Root+Wing Bodywork, before I ever really got to fully open them.
I’ve worked years and years toward opening Root+Wing because I believe in this work. I know that, especially during these times, supportive bodywork for grief and anxiety is needed more than ever. I’m heartbroken to move out of this space before I could even get started working with clients in person. However, I am still not feeling safe offering massage and bodywork right now. Given the Coronavirus predictions I’ve seen for the winter, I don’t foresee seeing clients until, at least, the spring or summer of 2021.
In order to offer a little more information about my decision, I will share that my partner had open heart surgery this year and has a new mechanical heart valve, my parents (who we live with part-time) are in their 80s and 90s, and my daughter and I both have an underlying genetic condition. My family is high-risk, and I am choosing to be more cautious and continue staying at home. I also realize that many of my clients are also more vulnerable due to high risk factors in their lives.
While I am so very sad to be moving out of the beautiful physical space that I had just been landing in - I am happy to say that I will be offering live, online restorative yoga, yoga nidra and grief movement classes beginning in 2021! I am very excited to begin this work and I will be sharing more information about this very soon!
I truly can not wait to be back to offering in-person services once I feel confident that it is reasonably safe to do so for myself, my family and for my highest risk clients! Until then, please keep an eye open for updates about online yoga and grief movement classes here on the website or by following the Root+Wing Facebook page and/or Instagram.
With you in service and with wishes of good health,
Abigail
